The Superior Design School of Murcia was created in September 2010, continuing the long trajectory of the teaching of Plastic Arts and Design initiated by the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Trades in 1933.
This is the only public Center in the Region of Murcia where Superior Artistic Design Education can be studied since 2003. In the 2010-2011 academic year the Artistic Teachings of Higher Design Studies regulated by Royal Decree 633/2010 of May 14, into EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION AREA-BOLOGNA PROCESS- with four specialties: Graphic Design, Interior Design, Product Design and Fashion Design; extinguishing the previous studies.
Since December 2010, the School is located in Murcia, C / Periodista Antonio Herrero 4, in a renovated building. 18 learning spaces distributed as follows: 6 Projects Workshops for the different Design specialties, all equipped with computer media, Photography and Audiovisual Plates, workshops for Modeling, Artistic Drawing, Technical Drawing, 3 Computer Media classrooms and 3 Theory classrooms. It also has an exhibition space, a Study Room for Students, a Final Projects library, Teachers' Room and Offices.
The Cloister is formed by Professors of Plastic Arts and Design and is structured in four Didactic Departments: Artistic Foundations, Scientific Foundations, Projects and Theory; and four Specialty Departments: Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design and Product Design. The Department of Promotion and Development coordinates the cultural and promotional action of the Higher School of Design and the Department of Transnational Projects coordinates the ERASMUS + program that allows our students to access training and internship grants in European companies.
The Center has an ERASMUS ECHE letter 2020-2027.
The Higher School of Design has agreements with companies in the Region of Murcia and the rest of Spain to guarantee the realization of Practices in Business by all students. The internships in company are coordinated by the professors-tutors of Practices and have obligatory character.
